K lateral release technique
A lateral release is a surgical procedure used to correct kneecap (patella) misalignment by releasing tight tissues on the outer side of the kneecap. This helps the kneecap track properly within its groove, reducing pain and preventing dislocation. During the procedure, the surgeon carefully cuts or loosens the soft tissues on the outside of the knee, allowing the kneecap to move more freely and stay centered during movement. The goal is to improve knee stability, function, and reduce discomfort associated with patellar tracking issues.
