Jurchen script

The Jurchen script is a writing system used by the Jurchen people, who were ancestors of the Manchu and played a key role in Chinese history, notably during the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234). This script represents the Jurchen language and is derived from Chinese characters, featuring a mix of logographic and phonetic elements. It was used primarily for administrative and literary purposes. Although it became less common after the fall of the Jin Dynasty, it remains significant for historical linguistics and our understanding of the cultures in northeastern China during that era.
