JUPITER Study
The JUPITER Study was a clinical trial that investigated whether taking a medication called rosuvastatin could reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and death in people who had normal or only slightly elevated cholesterol levels but showed signs of inflammation, which can indicate higher cardiovascular risk. The study found that rosuvastatin significantly lowered these risks, suggesting that even people without high cholesterol but with markers of inflammation might benefit from this medication. This research helped expand understanding of preventive heart care beyond just cholesterol levels alone.
