Jungle Cats

Jungle cats, scientifically known as Felis chaus, are medium-sized wild cats native to regions in South and Southeast Asia, including India, Sri Lanka, and parts of Southeast Asia. They are adaptable predators, often found in wetlands, grasslands, and forests. Recognizable by their slender body, long legs, and short fur with a light yellow or grayish coat, they are skilled hunters of small mammals, birds, and insects. Jungle cats are solitary and territorial, and despite their name, they are more associated with open areas rather than dense jungles. They play a vital role in controlling local pest populations.
