Jump Cuts
Jump cuts are sudden, noticeable transitions between two moments in a video or film that are often used intentionally. They occur when a continuous shot is cut to a slightly different version of the same scene, creating a jarring effect because the position or appearance of subjects changes abruptly. This technique can be used to show the passage of time, convey a sense of urgency, or emphasize a change. Although sometimes viewed as a mistake, skilled filmmakers use jump cuts deliberately for stylistic or narrative purposes, adding energy or focus to the storytelling.
