Jules Bordet

Jules Bordet was a Belgian scientist who studied how the immune system fights infections. He identified how certain immune proteins, called antibodies, work with white blood cells to detect and destroy harmful germs. His research helped explain the body's defense mechanisms and led to better vaccines and diagnostic tests. Bordet’s work laid the foundation for modern immunology, the study of the immune system, and earned him the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1919. His discoveries continue to influence medical science and improve our understanding of infectious diseases.
