
Judith A. Resnik
Judith A. Resnik was an American astronaut and engineer who made significant contributions to space exploration. She earned a doctorate in engineering and was selected as a NASA astronaut in 1984. Resnik flew on the Space Shuttle and was involved in research and technical planning for space missions. Tragically, she died in the Challenger disaster in 1986, when the shuttle exploded shortly after launch. Her legacy includes inspiring many in STEM fields, especially women, and advancing human spaceflight.
