Joseph Smith
Joseph Smith was the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the Mormon Church. Born in 1805 in Vermont, he claimed to have experienced divine visions, including one where God and Jesus Christ appeared to him. He reported that angels guided him to recover and translate ancient scriptures called the Book of Mormon. His leadership and revelations led to the establishment of a new Christian movement, emphasizing family, community, and religious renewal. Smith's life was marked by religious exploration, controversial experiences, and the founding of a faith that has since grown worldwide.
