
Joseph Rotblat
Joseph Rotblat was a nuclear physicist known for his ethical stance on nuclear weapons. He initially worked on the Manhattan Project during World War II but left upon learning of its goal to develop atomic bombs. He then dedicated his career to promoting nuclear disarmament and peace, co-founding the Pugwash Conferences, which bring scientists together to reduce the threat of nuclear war. Rotblat’s efforts earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995, recognizing his lifelong commitment to advocating for global security and responsible scientific conduct.
