Joseph Plunkett

Joseph Plunkett was an Irish nationalist and a key figure in the 1916 Easter Rising, an uprising aiming to end British rule in Ireland. A poet and journalist, he was passionate about Irish independence. Plunkett played a leadership role in organizing the rebellion and was involved in planning its events. During the uprising, he was wounded and later captured by British forces. He was sentenced to death and executed on May 4, 1916.
