Joseph Mengele
Joseph Mengele was a German SS doctor during World War II, notorious for performing inhumane experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz concentration camp. Known as the "Angel of Death," he selected victims for exhaustion or execution and conducted cruel, often deadly, scientific studies, especially on twins. His actions contributed to immense suffering and loss of life, and he remains a symbol of the horrific abuses committed during the Holocaust. After the war, he evaded capture and lived in South America until his death in 1979.
