Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges (1745–1799), was a talented French-E Guinean musician and military leader. He was a virtuoso violinist and composer, known for his impressive talents at a young age, and composed numerous pieces, including symphonies and operas. Saint-Georges also served as a leader of military riflemen during the French Revolution. His life bridged art and combat, breaking racial barriers of his time, and he is celebrated today as an important figure in classical music and history.
