Jonah and the Whale
The story of Jonah and the Whale is a biblical narrative in which Jonah, a prophet, is asked by God to deliver a message to the people of Nineveh. He initially refuses and tries to escape by boarding a ship, but a storm arises. Jonah is thrown overboard and swallowed by a large whale or fish, where he remains for three days and nights. Inside, he prays for mercy, and God commands the creature to release him. Jonah then proceeds to fulfill his mission. The story illustrates themes of obedience, repentance, and divine mercy.
