Jona (Jonah)
Jonah is a biblical prophet who is best known for being swallowed by a great fish (often called a whale) and surviving inside it for three days. God asked Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to warn its inhabitants to change their wicked ways. Instead, Jonah initially tried to run away by boarding a ship, but a storm forced him to be thrown overboard. The fish then swallowed him, giving him time to reflect. After praying, Jonah was spit out, went to Nineveh, and successfully delivered the message, leading the people to repent and avoid destruction.
