Joint Sponsor
A joint sponsor is a person who agrees to share responsibility with the primary sponsor for demonstrating an applicant’s financial ability to support themselves during their stay, typically for a visa or immigration process. If the primary sponsor’s income or assets are insufficient to meet the requirements, the joint sponsor provides additional financial support and signs an agreement promising to help financially. This ensures the applicant has enough resources for their stay, giving the immigration authorities confidence that the applicant won’t become a public burden. The joint sponsor is equally responsible for the financial obligation as the primary sponsor.
