Johnny Van Zant
Johnny Van Zant is an American musician best known as the lead singer of the rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, a group famous for Southern rock hits. Born in 1960, he is part of the Van Zant family, which includes his brother, don’t to be confused with the singer-songwriter Don Van Zant, and fellow musician Donnie Van Zant. Johnny took over as Lynyrd Skynyrd’s frontman after the tragic death of the original singer, Ronnie Van Zant, in 1977. His vocals helped carry on the band’s legacy, blending a gritty American rock sound with heartfelt lyrics.
