John Walsh is an American advocate and activist known for his efforts to improve child safety and prevent child abduction and abuse. After his young son, Adam, was tragically kidnapped and murdered in 1981, Walsh became a prominent voice for stronger law enforcement and protective measures. He helped establish the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and co-created the AMBER Alert system, which quickly notifies the public about child abductions. His work has significantly advanced efforts to recover missing children and protect vulnerable youth nationwide.
