John Robinson (Puritan leader)
John Robinson was a prominent Puritan minister in early 17th-century England and a leader among those seeking religious reform. He advocated for a sincere, personal approach to faith and played a key role in shaping the spiritual direction of the Pilgrims. Robinson supported the idea of establishing a new community based on religious convictions, which eventually led a group of his followers to migrate to North America aboard the Mayflower. Though he died before the Pilgrims' arrival in America, his teachings and leadership significantly influenced their values and the development of American religious culture.
