John Pershing
John Pershing was a prominent American military leader, best known for his role as the commander of the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. Born in 1860, he played a key role in organizing and leading U.S. troops in Europe. Pershing emphasized the importance of American troops fighting as a separate force rather than being integrated into European armies, which helped raise U.S. military prestige. His leadership contributed significantly to the Allied victory in 1918. After the war, he served as the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army and was awarded several honors for his service.
