John P. McHugh

John P. McHugh is an American attorney and politician who served as a U.S. Representative from New York from 1993 to 2009. He was a member of the Republican Party and represented a district in upstate New York. After his congressional service, he was appointed as the U.S. Secretary of the Army, serving from 2009 to 2011 under President Barack Obama. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the Army’s operations, policies, and budget, ensuring the readiness and well-being of U.S. Army personnel.
