
John La Rose
John La Rose was a Jamaican-born British writer, poet, and activist dedicated to promoting racial equality, education, and cultural pride for people of African descent. He co-founded the Caribbean Labour Congress and the organization New Beacon Books, the first Caribbean publisher in the UK, to amplify Black voices and stories. La Rose believed in empowering marginalized communities through knowledge and activism. His work and efforts helped advance civil rights, foster cultural understanding, and challenge racism, making him a significant figure in the fight for social justice and Black empowerment.
