John L. McGroarty

John L. McGroarty was an American poet, author, and journalist born in 1862. He is best known for his poetry celebrating California’s landscape and culture, as well as for his role as a prominent literary figure in Los Angeles during the early 20th century. McGroarty also served as a U.S. diplomat to El Salvador from 1919 to 1921. His work often reflected regional pride and national identity, making him an influential voice in American and Californian literature.
