John Jewel

John Jewel (1522–1571) was an influential English bishop and scholar during the 16th century. He played a key role in the English Reformation, working to establish the Anglican Church's identity separate from Roman Catholic traditions. Jewel is best known for his writings defending the Anglican faith and his efforts to promote church unity. As Bishop of Salisbury, he contributed to religious reform and education.
