John III Sobieski was a Polish king and military leader in the late 17th century, best known for his leadership in defending Europe from invading forces. In 1683, he famously led a coalition to break the Ottoman Empire's siege of Vienna, playing a crucial role in diminishing Ottoman power in Central Europe.
