John A. (John A. Logan)

John A. Logan was an American soldier, lawyer, and politician. He served as a general for the Union Army during the Civil War, known for his leadership and dedication. After the war, he became a prominent politician, serving as a U.S. Congressman and Senator from Illinois. Logan also led the National Cemetery System, helping to establish and maintain military cemeteries. He was the 3rd Lieutenant Governor of Illinois and the 7th Major General of the U.S. Volunteers.
