Johannine Comma

The Johannine Comma is a short phrase found in 1 John 5:7-8 of some Bible versions, which emphasizes the Trinity by mentioning the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit together. However, most ancient manuscripts do not include this phrase, and many scholars believe it was added later to support Trinitarian doctrine. As a result, the Comma is considered a textual variant—an addition not originally part of the biblical text—highlighting how biblical translations can sometimes include or omit certain passages based on manuscript evidence.
