Johann Gutenberg was a German inventor born around 1400 who revolutionized communication by developing movable type printing. His innovation allowed individual metal letters to be arranged to form pages, which could be reused and quickly printed in large quantities. This technology made books more affordable and accessible, greatly spreading knowledge, ideas, and literacy across Europe. Gutenberg’s most famous work is the Gutenberg Bible, printed around 1455. His invention is considered a key milestone in the spread of the Renaissance and the transformation of society through mass communication.
