Jogaila (Władysław II Jagiełło)
Jogaila, also known as Władysław II Jagiełło, was a 14th-15th century ruler who became King of Poland through a marriage alliance. Originally Grand Duke of Lithuania, he married the Polish queen, which led to the union of Poland and Lithuania, forming a significant political and military alliance. Jagiełło played a key role in uniting these regions, strengthening their defenses against common enemies, particularly the Teutonic Knights. His reign is noted for victories like the Battle of Grunwald (1410), which marked a major shift in military power in Eastern Europe. His leadership helped shape the future of both Poland and Lithuania.
