Jogaila

Jogaila was a Lithuanian prince and Grand Duke of Lithuania who reigned in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. He is known for uniting Lithuania and Poland through a personal union in 1386, when he married Queen Jadwiga of Poland and converted to Christianity. This alliance helped Lithuania become part of a larger political entity, enabling it to strengthen its influence in Europe. Jogaila also played a key role in resisting the Teutonic Knights and promoting the spread of Christianity in Lithuania. His leadership laid the foundation for the future Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
