Joanot Martorell
Joanot Martorell was a 15th-century Catalan writer best known for authoring *Tirant lo Blanc*, a significant medieval novel. This work is considered one of the earliest examples of chivalric romance and is praised for its vivid storytelling, complex characters, and realistic portrayal of battles and knighthood. Martorell's writing influenced later literature, including Miguel de Cervantes' *Don Quixote*. Although little is known about his life, his contribution lies primarily in creating a pioneering and richly detailed narrative that bridges medieval chivalry and early modern storytelling.
