
Joan of England
Joan of England (1165–1199) was the daughter of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine. She was the sister of kings Richard I and John. Known for her piety and humility, Joan served as a nun and later as a prioress at various religious institutions. Her life was marked by her dedication to religious service during a turbulent period in English history. Though not as politically prominent as her siblings, she embodies the virtue and devotion valued by medieval society, and she was venerated as a pious figure after her death.
