Jewish-Roman conflicts

The Jewish-Roman conflicts were a series of tensions and rebellions between Jewish communities and Roman authorities from 66 to 135 CE. Jews sought religious and political independence but faced Roman domination and policies seen as oppressive. These conflicts included the First Jewish–Roman War (66–73 CE), which culminated in the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, and the Bar Kokhba revolt (132–135 CE), aiming to restore Jewish sovereignty. These uprisings resulted in significant destruction, loss of life, and increased Roman control, profoundly impacting Jewish society and leading to the widespread diaspora.
