JEV

Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV) is a mosquito-borne virus that can cause inflammation of the brain, leading to symptoms like high fever, headache, neck stiffness, and in severe cases, neurological damage or death. It is mainly found in parts of Asia and the Western Pacific. The virus is transmitted to humans through bites from infected mosquitoes, often after they feed on animals like pigs and birds that carry the virus. Most infected people experience mild symptoms or none at all, but vaccination and mosquito control are key to prevention, especially in high-risk areas.
