Jetsam

Jetsam refers to goods or cargo that are deliberately thrown overboard from a ship, often to lighten the vessel during an emergency, such as a storm. It can include items like equipment or supplies that are no longer deemed essential. Unlike flotsam, which refers to debris that has accidentally ended up in the water, jetsam is intentionally discarded.
