Jet Stream

A jet stream is a fast-moving ribbon of air high in the atmosphere, typically found near the top of the troposphere. These air currents typically flow from west to east and can influence weather patterns across regions. They form due to temperature differences between the polar and tropical air masses, creating pressure differences that drive the wind. Jet streams can steer weather systems, bringing storms or clear skies, and their position can change seasonally and daily. Pilots often use them for faster travel, and understanding them helps meteorologists forecast weather more accurately.
