The kingdom aimed to secure holy sites for Christianity, especially Jerusalem, which was considered sacred. It was ruled by a king and had a mix of feudal and religious governance. The kingdom faced constant challenges from Muslim forces and other Crusader states, leading to a series of conflicts and changes in control. It ultimately fell to Muslim forces in 1291, marking the end of significant Christian rule in the area until modern times.
