JEDP theory
The JEDP theory is a scholarly idea about the sources used to write the first books of the Bible. It suggests these texts were compiled from four main sources: J (the Jahwist, emphasizing God's personal relationship), E (the Elohist, focusing on God's distant attributes), D (Deuteronomist, with a focus on law and covenant), and P (Priestly, highlighting rituals and priestly concerns). Biblical scholars believe these sources were combined over time to create the current text, helping us understand the different styles and themes within the Bible.
