Jean-Pierre Bemba

Jean-Pierre Bemba is a prominent Congolese politician and former military leader. He led a rebel group during the Democratic Republic of Congo's conflicts and served as Vice President from 2003 to 2006. Bemba founded the Movement for the Liberation of Congo (MLC), a political party. In 2016, he was convicted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by his forces in Central African Republic, though his conviction was later reversed in 2018.
