Jean-François de Troy (1679–1752) was a French painter known for his lively history and mythological scenes, often featuring elaborate compositions and elegant figures. He was a prominent figure of the Rococo style, which emphasized grace, lightness, and decorative detail. De Troy also worked as a court painter for the French king and the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture. His artworks often depicted grand, theatrical moments with a sense of movement and opulence.
