
Jayatirtha
Jayatirtha was a prominent Indian philosopher and theologian in the 14th century, known for his mastery of Vaishnava philosophy, particularly the Dvaita (dualism) school founded by Madhva. He served as a revered scholar and head (pontiff) of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham monastery. Jayatirtha contributed significantly through scholarly writings, defending and elaborating on Madhva’s teachings, and ensuring their preservation. His work helped shape the theological landscape of Vaishnavism in South India. Known for his deep philosophical insights, Jayatirtha remains a respected figure in Indian religious and philosophical traditions.
