Javan Myna

The Javan Myna, also known as the White-vented Myna, is a medium-sized bird native to Southeast Asia. Recognized for its glossy black feathers, white undertail coverts, and bright yellow eye patches, it is highly adaptable and often found in urban and agricultural areas. Known for its intelligence and ability to mimic sounds, it feeds mainly on insects, fruits, and human food scraps. The Javan Myna plays a role in seed dispersal but can also become invasive outside its native range, competing with local species and impacting ecosystems. Its adaptability has made it both a familiar and sometimes problematic bird in various regions.
