Jat Wars

The Jat Wars (also known as the Jat Rebellions) were a series of armed conflicts in the late 17th and 18th centuries primarily involving the Jat community, a group of agrarian warriors in North India. They fought against Mughal authority and later against British colonial forces to assert their rights and autonomy over their land. The rebellions were motivated by socio-economic grievances and a desire for independence. Key figures, like Churaman and Suraj Mal, emerged as leaders during these struggles, which ultimately contributed to the decline of Mughal power and the rise of regional kingdoms in India.
