Jarrow March

The Jarrow March was a peaceful protest in 1936 where around 200 unemployed workers from the town of Jarrow, England, walked 300 miles to London. They were seeking government help for their struggling town, which faced high unemployment and poverty due to industrial decline. The march aimed to highlight their hardships and urge the government to provide jobs and support. While the march did not result in immediate aid, it drew national attention to economic hardship in industrial communities and became a symbol of workers’ struggles during the Great Depression.
