Japanese Self-Defense Forces
The Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) are Japan's military organized primarily for national defense, established after World War II under Japan's pacifist constitution. They consist of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (army), Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (navy), and Japan Air Self-Defense Force (air force). While their primary role is defending Japan from threats, the JSDF can also participate in international peacekeeping and humanitarian missions. They are not equipped for offensive warfare, reflecting Japan's post-war pacifist policies, but they are highly trained and technologically advanced for defense and disaster relief efforts.
