Japanese House of Representatives

The Japanese House of Representatives is the lower chamber of Japan’s national parliament, responsible for making and passing laws. Its members, elected by citizens through general elections, represent various regions and political parties. The House has the authority to initiate legislation, approve the national budget, and select the Prime Minister. It can also influence policy and government direction significantly. Members serve four-year terms but elections may occur earlier. The House works alongside the upper chamber, the House of Councillors, to shape Japan’s laws and governance, acting as a key institution in the country’s democratic political system.
