Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JARI)

The Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JARI) was a leading research organization in Japan dedicated to nuclear energy development and safety. It focused on advancing nuclear technology, reactor design, and radiation safety to support Japan’s energy needs and promote peaceful applications of nuclear science. JARI collaborated with international partners to improve nuclear power plant efficiency and safety standards. In 1998, JARI merged into the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), continuing its mission within a broader organization responsible for nuclear research, energy security, and environmental safety in Japan.
