Jana (historical figure)

Jana was a prominent king of Magadha in ancient India, reigning around the 5th or 4th century BCE. He is best known as the founder of the Munda (or Jharka) dynasty and for establishing the city of Pataliputra, which later became a major center of Indian civilization. Jana played a key role in consolidating power in northeastern India and fostering political stability. His leadership helped lay the groundwork for subsequent dynasties that contributed significantly to Indian history, culture, and governance.
