James VI (King of Scots)

James VI of Scotland, born in 1566, was a king who united two significant kingdoms—Scotland and later England—by becoming King of England in 1603, after Elizabeth I's death. Initially ruling Scotland from a young age, he focused on strengthening his kingdom's stability and pushed for political and religious reforms. His accession to the English throne marked the beginning of the Stuart era in England, leading to the eventual political union of the two kingdoms. James was known for his intellectual interests, support of the arts, and commissioning the King James Bible, a significant religious text still influential today.
