James Brindley

James Brindley (1716–1772) was a pioneering English engineer who played a vital role in developing early canals and water transportation. Recognized as one of the first professional canal engineers, he designed innovative waterway systems that improved transportation of goods during the Industrial Revolution. His work included building bridges, locks, and tunnels, notably the Trent and Mersey Canal.
