Jain laypersons
Jain laypersons, known as "Shrenis" or "Jain followers," are individuals who adhere to Jain principles without becoming monks or nuns. They primarily focus on leading ethical lives by practicing non-violence (ahimsa), truthfulness (satya), non-possessiveness (aparigraha), and other moral virtues in daily activities such as work, family, and community life. While they do not renounce worldly responsibilities, they seek spiritual growth through mindful living, charitable acts, and ritual observances. Their commitment supports the Jain community and helps uphold the religion's core values outside monastic settings.
